This sensitive drawing testifies to the collaboration and friendship among the prominent Impressionist painters. It likely was made in Bazille’s Paris studio on the Rue La Condamine just a year before the artist’s untimely death in the Franco-Prussian War, when hisrelationship with Manet had grown especially close.
