No. 45; Paris, sale of the gallery of the late Marshal Soult May 19-22, 1852, no. 24 (raised to 5,000 F, withdrawn); undivided collection of the heirs of Marshal Soult, 18521858; sold in July 1858 with four other paintings (see Herrera, M.I. 206, Murillo, M.I. 202, M.I. 203, and Zurbarán, M.I. 204) by the heirs of Marshal Soult to settle a debt of 300,000 F to the French State, to following the extinction of the surcharge instituted by Napoleon I in 1807 (estimated 20,000 F); attributed to the Imperial Museum on October 12, 1858.
