In the past, this portrait was considered to be that of Simonetta Vespucci, venerated by Giuliano de’ Medici, who died in 1478. The fantastic hairstyle is reminiscent of the female figures in Botticelli‘s mythological depictions and suggests that it is an ideal portrait. (Gemäldegalerie)
