Painted on the back of the 1908 Self-Portrait, this further self-portrait by the artist may predate it by a few years, judging by its style and youthful facial features. The painting was discovered behind the frame’s crosspiece, almost completely hidden by a gray background of color; it reveals numerous compositional uncertainties and was likely covered over by Boccioni himself, dissatisfied with the result.
