Main panel of an altarpiece installed on February 20, 1494 in the Mascalzoni chapel of the ancient church of Cestello (since 1628 Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi) in Florence. The predella, with three painted medallions (The Angel and The Virgin of the Annunciation, The Christ of Sorrow), remains in place. (Louvre)
